I started working on PHP the week of May 5, 2008 (week off between school and work), and read a large part of the manual.
To begin with, I thought I would build a simple program that might replace my "watched and to watch" list. It'd be good to use a database, right? So I looked at sqlite. But apparently this only works with sqlite version 2, which seems horribly outdated. I finally saw that sqlite3 is included as a driver for pdo; I'm trying to figure out whether this is the standard way of using a database (it seems to be).
